What do we do?
NYC’s cutting edge artists inspire joy by visiting the homes of seniors and senior living centers and connecting through music. Bridge To The Soul has a profound impact on the wellbeing of older adults who struggle with cognitive impairment, chronic illness, or social isolation. Instead of a one-size-fits-all approach, we customize the repertoire for each individual to ensure a set of songs they not only love and recognize but can sing along to. The songs range from jazz standards to show tunes and can span multiple languages including Hebrew, Spanish, French, German, Dutch, and Yiddish. The intimate one-on-one work takes root in familiar melodies and comes to life through a unique blend of craft, intuition and improvisation. The richest quality these seasoned artists bring is their unwavering warmth.

Becca Gastfriend
Founder, Co-Director
Bridge To The Soul was founded in 2020 by Becca Sasha Gastfriend, award-winning singer and songwriter, inspired by her years as a child singing for her grandfather on his dementia unit. Trained at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, Becca uses her voice as a vehicle for connection.

Charlotte Jacobs
Co-Director
Charlotte Jacobs is a trained jazz singer, musician and educator from Ghent, Belgium. She graduated with the highest honor at the Royal Conservatory of Ghent and uses her vocal training and improvisation to uplift others at Bridge To The Soul.
